COMENIUS „Let’s discover hidden talents”

    The first visit in Poland

Date: November 10- November 16, 2013

On the first day

We greeted our guests with bread and salt- the traditional welcome greeting. Then they watched the performance about the culture and traditions of our country. Our guests also participated in the workshops where they  made national bows and rosettes with the project’s logo. In the afternoon we went to see how The National Independence Day was celebrated in Piła.

On the second day

The students from Turkey, Catalonia and Poland were learning the Polish song ‘Szła dzieweczka do laseczka’. Then we went to the Town Hall to visit the vice President of Piła. After the meeting in the Town Hall we went for a long walk to take some photos. After lunch we participated in the Headmistress Bowling Cup.

On the third day

On Wednesday we took our guests to Toruń. We visited the Copernicus House and The Museum of Gingerbread where we made gingerbread cookies. Then we went to the Geodium and the Orbitarium and finally to the Planetarium to watch the film show ‘Macrocosmos’. We also visited the Old Town.

On the fourth day

Students from Turkey and Catalonia participated in Polish and Maths lessons. Then they went to watch the performance the Little Red Riding Hood. Then there was a workshop on painting porcelain. After lunch the students went on a picnic to Tarnowo.

Photo contest
On Tuesday during the walking in Piła kids took photos.  The first and second prizes in this photo contest went to student from Turkey – a girl called Beyzanur, the third one to student from Turkey as well – a girl called Duru. Congratulations! We want also to say every photo was great and we are really proud of every kid.

Word quiz
On Thursday it was the Polish words quiz. We'd like to say we are very impressed with our guests' know-how. We also want to single out some students – Beyzanur, Alperen and Duru from Turkey and one of teachers – Mr Selahaddin.  He was so good, that we also aren't sure, if he isn't a  Polish.

On the fifth day

We started with the workshops for students. They created photo frames for the group photography taken during the meeting in the Town Hall. Then they watched  the dancing performance. We said good bye at the assembly ceremony.  Students and teachers got the certificates of competitions and participation.

OUR IMPRESSIONS OF PİLA
Let’s Discover Hidden Talents is an awesome project. We have learnt a lot .
Poland is a big and cold country but Polish people are warm and friendly. When we arrived in Poland, we went to a hotel and met our host families there. They took us their home. There was a little dog and it was lovely. Their house was clean and beautiful. The parents were really friendly, lovely and helpful. Our friend was so nice to us. We joined workshops, lessons and did some activities together and we really enjoyed very much. We travelled an old city, Torun. We saw many historical places and buildings. Making ginger bread was a different activity for us and we learned about the importance of that bread. We went to play bowling and it was also very enjoyable.
We  left Poland with good memories. It was a great experience  for us. Thank you for Polish Team for their hospitality.

OUR IMPRESSIONS OF  PİLA, POLAND
Let’s Discover Hidden Talents is a very special project  for us. We had the opportunity to see different countries and to discover our hidden talents. It made us so happy. We took photos, talked English , learned Polish, made  gingerbreads, played bowling, painted cups… Shortly, we learned a lot from our similarities and differences. We made many new lovely friends.
We discovered that ‘No matter where we are from Turkey, Spain, Greece, Lithuania or Poland, all we are good friends.’
We really love this Project and we are lucky to meet all Comenius partnerships . Thank you for our host families friends and teachers and their great hospitality in Poland.
